THIS IS SOMETHING I WANTED TO POST FOR SO LONG, I'VE WAITED FOR THIS MOMENT FOR OVER 9 FUCKING YEARS, MY HEART STILL SCREAMS AFTER BOTH ROUND ONE AND TWO.
I apologise for that cap lock explosion, fuck it - I don't. You Me At Six has been one of my favourite bands for about 9 years now and they have always maintained the top 3 spots.
The fact that I was able to see them twice in a span of 2 months amazes me.
Seeing the life for the first time with Emily who has also been a fan for 9-10 years and finally seeing them together was a fucking honour. The concert was on the over side of London to where I live and a 50 min overground ride but honestly it was worth every second of excitement before and post tears . The first show we went to was the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on the 24th of October. I was like a coming back tour as they played mostly old albums classic and honestly for someone who has never seen them live before, it was a pleasure to listen to the whole set list, it was pretty perfect actually.
As for the show, they are the kind of artist that are even better than their albums. I was a very emotional girl at the show for sure, all was fun and good people where a tiny bit aggressive but it's a concert so didn't expect any less. I cried during 'no one does it better' and then SOBBED during 'room to breathe' like i'm talking blurry eyes did't see anything. I guess both songs if I look at the lyrics connect to me on a deeper level so it was something else to see them live for sure.
Round 2 was a Dr Martens show at Dingwell, Camden on the 26th November. This was a much smaller shower with a capacity of about 300 people. The show happened in like a comedy venue so it was a very compact venue. To be honest, I did prefer the shepherd bush show just because it was a very unorganised method. The show was postponed an hour then given on the ticket and it being November you can just imagine how aggravated the crowd was getting. My feet honestly went numb in the 9 degrees.
Beside all the security and entry dilemmas the show was as expected amazing. You Me At Six just doesn't ever really fail. I cried during their new song 'give' and 'no one does it better' as you do.
Highly suggest seeing them no matter how big or small of a fan you are. I am happy to say that a few more rounds are considered in 2017 which I am very much looking forward to :-)
hope you had/have a beautiful magical day xxx
ps: Apologise ya girl has been horrible at posting due to some stuff in the background that has left me a little blue. I am drafting posts or planning all the ones I need to write so 2017 doesn't follow the pattern of inconsistent post, I'll post at least once a week and leave requests if anything xx
